Home is Where ... Your PCP Is!

We had a terrific vacation, but my throat was killing me the whole week! I mean, seriously. Everyone declared it was drainage because of being in a more mold-prone part of the country, so I dutifully took sudafed and sucked on my lozenges. I seriously thought I needed antibiotics, but our loverly military health care system doesn't let you see a doctor out of area unless you are on your death bed.

Now, I don't want to complain too much about TriCare. I love that my family is taken care of, the benefits are awesome, and we love our doctors. BUT, when you are traveling, it kind of sucks not to be able to see a doctor. There are other complaints, but they don't directly relate to this particular whining session, so we'll leave it at that.

When I got home, I went right on in, and found I have strep throat. Had it all 8 days of our trip, in fact. See? I KNEW it!! I'm no hypochondriac. Mere sinus drainage could not possibly cause your throat to feel that you had gone into training to be a fire-eater and had miserably failed.

Thank the good Lord for home, and doctors. And Z-Pak.

Ooh, ouchie Carol. I had strep throat a couple of months ago and everything I swallowed felt like glass shards...even water! I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly and you're back to your healthy self again soon!

My throat has been sore for awhile too. I sure hope it's not strep.
